Greater Bank recognised once again as Australia’s best home lender

Greater Bank has again taken out the 2019 Home Lender of the Year as part of Money Magazine’s 15th annual Consumer Finance Awards.

It is the second consecutive year the Hunter-based, customer-owned bank has taken out the accolade, and adds to what has already been a successful 12 months in terms of Awards success.

In February, Greater Bank was named the Most Recommended Customer-owned Bank at the 2019 DBM Australian Financial Awards, and in March achieved success at the 2019 Mozo Experts Choice Awards for Home Loans, taking out nine categories, including the prestigious Home Lender Bank of the Year Award.

These national achievements highlight Greater Bank’s reputation for quality service and great value amongst consumers and industry experts alike.

Greater Bank Chief Executive Officer, Scott Morgan, was proud to receive the award which reinforces the value proposition that can be found outside the major banks.

“We are thrilled with our most recent achievements and take pride in being acknowledged for our ability to offer excellent value home loans to satisfy the diverse needs and financial goals of our customers.” said Mr Morgan.

“As a business we have undergone significant change over the past two years but have remained committed to providing a quality range of products and offerings that are delivered with the highest standards of customer service.

“Like the majority of financial institutions, home lending plays a significant role in our overall financial success and this award reinforces to current and potential customers that Greater Bank offers some of the best value home loans and is a competitive alternative to the major banks.

This, combined with our other recent successes, demonstrates that as a bank we are providing customers with outstanding service and quality products, which is fundamental to the growth and sustainability of our business. In delivering this, it provides us with more flexibility in terms of redistributing profits back into the organisation to help lower fees and increase the value of our products | Scott Morgan, Greater Bank CEO

The industry is seeing a real shift, especially given findings exposed through the recent Banking Royal Commission, with more consumers looking to put trust in financial institutions beyond the “Big Four”.

The Consumer Finance Awards involve a Canstar review of more than 15,000 financial products and services from over 200 financial institutions throughout Australia. The results provide customers with unbiased and accurate information that enables them to make informed decisions about their banking needs.

In determining the award, Greater Bank’s portfolio of fixed and variable home loan products, along with line of credit facility, scored well all round by Money Magazine.
