Greater support for the Gold Coast community

Greater Bank is giving community groups across the Gold Coast region the chance to share in $3,000 each month as part of its newly expanded #GreaterGoldCoast community funding program.

From February 2023, Greater Bank will select three organisations each month that the community then vote on, with the winner receiving $2,000 and the runners-up each taking away $500.

Greater Bank’s Regional Manager, Scott McCluskey, said the program is an extension of the customer-owned bank’s commitment to supporting the Gold Coast region.

“Like the rest of the state and indeed the country, the Gold Coast region has endured plenty of challenges over the last two years that have disrupted households, small business and community groups,” Mr McCluskey said.

“That’s why it’s more important than ever for Greater Bank to support the communities that support us, and why we are proud to expand our community funding program into the Gold Coast, a region we have been part of for the last 20 years.

“#GreaterGoldCoast will generate positive action for community groups, be they grassroots sporting clubs, school P&C associations, not-for-profit volunteer-run organisations or established charities, who can use this funding to improve their facilities, innovate the way they deliver their programs or even expand their services to support a new or specific need in the community.

“Since 2016, our community funding programs have invested more than $800,000 to a diverse range of groups across the state, many of whom struggle for regular funding.

“We’ve seen first-hand the positive impact this funding has had on the groups we have funded and the communities they support, which is why we’re excited to now launch the #GreaterGoldCoast program and help make a difference to community groups in this region.”
