Greater support for the Northern Rivers region

A bank is nothing without its customers, which is why Greater Bank is committed to supporting the communities that support us.

One of the ways we do this is through our Community Funding Program, which delivers $3,000 each month to local organisations making the Northern Rivers even Greater.

Since launching in November 2021, #GreaterNorthernRivers has delivered more than $60,000 to over 40 community groups, including Rural Fire Service Brigades, pre-schools and primary schools, sporting clubs, volunteer transport operations, historical societies and plenty more, with the winner decided by a public online vote.

Our February round winner, Love for Lismore HeART Space Incorporated, plans to use the $2,000 to cover their operating costs for an entire month.

The two monthly runners, Eltham Sport and Recreation Committee Incorporated and the Association of Veteran Surfers Ballina Byron Inc., each received $500.

Love for Lismore HeART Space Co-Founder Jodi Dynan said the city continues to suffer more than 12 months on from the floods.

“The Love for Lismore HeART Space is a creative community hub designed to aid in grass roots post flood recovery,” Jodi said.

“We started out rallying volunteers to sew 2022 flood banners and have since grown into a large community space in the Lismore CBD.

“We provide a place to sew, craft, connect and heal, as well as a craft op shop where individuals can replenish much needed supplies at no cost.

“It’s also a meeting and workshop space in addition to being home to the iconic heart banners.

“Currently, we’re funded completely by donations so this money from Greater Bank is extremely welcome. It will cover our running costs for a month, enabling us to continue to provide workshops and other activities for the community.”

Greater Bank’s Community Funding Programs now operate in seven regions across New South Wales and Queensland, providing more than $20,000 a month to help make communities stronger by supporting organisations that bring people together for the common good.
