Meet Shareen

As a program Ambassador, Shareen will be visiting high schools in the Illawarra to use her real-life banking experience to deliver practical and relevant content around money management, savings strategies and how to make informed financial decisions. Shareen explains why she got involved and what she’s enjoying most about being part of the program.
What prompted you to become a Finance Academy Ambassador?

I have worked in the finance industry for over 5 years and have met various people that find finances difficult & confusing, as this isn’t something taught in school.  Being an ambassador helps change that and I would love to be able to help make that difference in people’s lives.

Why is financial literacy important to you?

I feel financial literacy gives you the freedom to dream and make those dreams come true.

It isn’t something that is taught in regular schooling so the information provided in the Finance Academy sets people up for life!

I was lucky enough that my parents had passed on the information as I was growing up but have realised it’s not a common trend.
