Your questions answered

To open an Everyday account online (Ultimate Access or Access Account), you must be a permanent resident of Australia, over the age of 18, and have an Australian address.

If you don’t already bank with us, iIn order to verify your identity, you'll need any two of: your current Australian driver licence, Medicare, or passport.

To open a Retirement Plus Account, visit our friendly staff at your local branch.

Anyone can open a Greater Bank everyday account in any of our branches provided that you’re a permanent resident of Australia, over the age of 18, and have an Australian address.

To keep an Access account open, you must continue to have an Australian residential address.

If you already bank with us:

If you’re already banking with us and registered for online banking, we won’t require any additional information from you as we have already verified your identity. You’ll simply need to:

  1. Log into our app or online banking (Deep link Button)

  2. Select the account type you’d like to open via the Products and Offers section and double-check all your personal details are correct

  3. That’s it. Your account is ready to use! Too easy.

If you don’t bank with us yet:

If you’re a new customer, we’ll need to verify your identity by having you complete one of our Everyday Account online forms.

In order to verify your identity, you'll need any two of: your current Australian driver licence, Medicare, or passport.

Activating your Greater Bank Card is easy and can be done in a number of ways

Mobile App

Most of our customers choose this option as it's the easiest

  • Login to our Mobile App.
  • Tap on 'Activate your card' on the top right-hand side of screen.
  • Follow the prompts.
Online
  • Simply Logon to Online Banking.
  • Click Card Maintenance and select your account from the menu.
  • Complete the security and verification procedures.
Phone

You can give us a call on 13 13 86 and one of our friendly staff can activate your card for you.

We calculate interest by applying the daily percentage rate to the different portions of your daily balance as set out in the above tiers. Interest is calculated daily and is paid six-monthly on 30 June and 31 December. These rates are current as at the Effective Date and are subject to change by Greater Bank without further notice.
