The Greater Bank Community Match is back for Jets’ first home game for 2022/23

There will be plenty of fun and entertainment both on and off the pitch when the Newcastle Jets host their first home game of the A-League Men’s Season at McDonald Jones Stadium on Saturday, 15 October.

The game will see the return of the Greater Bank Community Match where the club and its major community partner come together to host a range of activities for the whole family and shine a light in an important community organisation.

They are also giving children aged 12 years and under to attend the game for free!

On arrival, fans can enjoy the Family Fun Zone located in the western car park, which will be filled with an array of interactive displays, rides and activities, while after the full time whistle they will have the chance to spend some time on the pitch for ‘Kids on the Field’.

The match will support Greater Charitable Foundation partner, Aspect Hunter School, by inviting a number of teachers, students and their families to attend the match.

For children with autism, crowds and loud noises can be overwhelming, which can often prevent them and their families from attending sporting matches. Newcastle Jets and Greater Bank have established a “Quiet Room” for the match that will provide a safe, fun and comfortable space for the children and their families to enjoy the football.

Around 30 Aspect Hunter School students, as well as parents, carers and teachers will attend the match, with some also taking a behind the scenes tour of McDonald Jones Stadium, and a couple of lucky students conducting the coin toss and delivering the match ball before kick-off.

Greater Bank Head of Marketing and Customer Experience, Ingrid Kaczor, said the Community Match is a key feature of Greater Bank’s partnership with the Newcastle Jets.

“As the Major Community Partner of the Newcastle Jets, our support goes well beyond sponsoring the football team. It’s a wonderful vehicle for both organisations to connect with the fans and community and give back to those people that support us.

“After a two-year hiatus due to COVID, it is wonderful to see the return of the Community Match and we hope a large crowd will be on hand for what is the first home game of the 2022/23 season.”

The Family Fun Zone will be open from 4.00pm until 5.00pm when the game between the Newcastle Jets and Perth Glory kicks off.
