Jets set to land in regional NSW this November

After a two year COVID hiatus, the Jets:TOUR fuelled by Greater Bank hits the road in November with the Newcastle Jets A-League Men’s and Women’s teams heading to Tamworth.

The Jets will use the World Cup competition break to visit the regional NSW centre where they will attend primary schools, conduct a Jets:PLAY skills clinic for aspiring young footballers, and host a Festival of Football at Scully Park.

Jets:PLAY clinics are fun football skills clinics for kids aged 5 to 12 years and are a chance for children to meet their sporting heroes. As part of being Major Community Partner of the Newcastle Jets, Greater Bank helps the Jets bring a number of Jets:PLAY clinics to towns in regional NSW each season as part of the Jets:TOUR. The Tamworth clinic will take place on Wednesday 23 November and registrations are essential.

At the Festival of Football, the Jets A-League Women’s side will play their Round Two match against the Western Sydney Wanderers at 3pm which will be followed by an exhibition match between the Jets Men’s side taking on Melbourne City at 5:30pm. At the conclusion of the two matches there will be a post-match function at West Tamworth Leagues Club where fans will be able to watch the Socceroos World Cup Group Stage match against Tunisia live on the big screens.

Newcastle Jets Chief Executive Officer, Shane Mattiske, said that the Club is looking forward to engaging with the regional NSW communities.

“We know that Newcastle Jets fans reside well beyond the Hunter, so it is fantastic that with the support of Greater Bank we can again take our Newcastle Jets’ players to the people of this region.

Shane Mattiske, Newcastle Jets Chief Executive Officer,

“COVID forced us to cancel the Jets:TOUR over the last two seasons so we are looking forward to the opportunity to meet many of our Members and fans in their backyard, and generally spread the word of the game and our Club to the wider community.”

Greater Bank’s Community Engagement Manager, Ingrid Kaczor, said the recently renewed partnership with the Newcastle Jets provides an important platform for the bank and club to connect with key regional markets.

“Greater Bank has been servicing customers in these regional areas for more than 40 years and the regional tour helps us to connect with the people and communities that support us,” Ingrid said.

“We are delighted to again partner with the Newcastle Jets to take the tour to this regional centre and give the football fans the chance to meet their heroes and watch elite football live in their home town.”

Keep an eye on the Greater Bank Jets:TOUR website and Newcastle Jets website and socials for further information on how to get involved.
