What is PayID®?

PayID is a memorable piece of information like your mobile number or email that can be linked to your bank account. Once set up, you can provide your PayID details to receive payments instead of handing out your BSB or account number. You can also make payments to other people using PayID if they have it set up for their own account. It’s part of the New Payments Platform, letting you send and receive payments within seconds. 

What are the benefits of PayID?

PayID enables you to make secure transfers quickly and easily. It only takes a few minutes to set up and is much easier to remember than your account details. You can also set up multiple PayIDs if you have more than one account.

What makes PayID safe?

Using PayID comes with several security perks. Along with being able to verify the name of the recipient, it also reduces the chances of sending money to the wrong account. We’ll also run security checks the first time a transfer is made to a new payee.

How do I set up a PayID?

Once you’ve downloaded our app or registered for online banking, follow these simple steps to set up your PayID.

Step 1:

Log on to the app or online banking and select Services > PayID Management.

Step 2:

Select > Create PayID and follow the prompts.

Step 3:

Confirm your details, enter the verification code we send you and that’s it!

Yes, you can register more than one PayID.

You can have more than one PayID linked to an account, however each PayID can only be linked to one account.

For example, you may have wish to link your everyday account with your mobile number, and your savings account with your email address.

Simple – here’s how to pay someone via an Osko payment, using their PayID.

  • Log into Greater Bank’s app or online banking
  • Click on ‘Pay Anyone’
  • Select a PayID from your existing list, or add your New Payee’s PayID details in the fields provided
  • Enter payment details, such as source account, amount, payment recurrence and add as an Osko payment. (Don’t forget, you can now also add a message of up to 280 characters, including emojis!)
