Greater with fans and their heroes
Central to our long standing community partnership with The Jets has been the establishment of the Jets:CONNECT program, which was born off the back of community and member feedback. The program aims to support and nurture the all-important ties between grassroots football and at the nation's highest level. Jets:CONNECT has enabled the club to reach more than 5,500 aspiring young footballers across the Hunter and throughout Northern NSW.
Jets:LEARN
Jets:LEARN Online allows schools to score a coaching clinic from their heroes. We've teamed up with the Jets to give primary schools an online program of football skills lessons specially designed by your favourite Jets players. Jets:LEARN Online is available to all primary schools across Newcastle and regional NSW completely FREE. To take part all you need to do is register your interest and the Newcastle Jets will be in touch with more information.
Jets:PLAY
As part of our commitment to supporting the community and local participation in sport, Greater Bank supports Jets:PLAY, a football skills program that gives everybody the chance to learn from their sporting heroes. These free training sessions are for kids aged 5 to 14 and are held in locations around Newcastle and regional NSW.

Greater with support for families
We're thrilled to be funding the Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern NSW Stronger Together Partnership, designed to help reduce the financial burdens of families with a seriously ill or injured child. Our commitment of $650,000 will achieve life-changing outcomes and provide much-needed support to thousands of families across Northern NSW.
Greater with support for those in need
Our Greater Charitable Foundation's partnership with The Leukaemia Foundation centres around the Financial Assistance Program. The Financial Assistance Program not only provides patients and their families with simple monetary support such as covering household bills, and fuel and grocery vouchers, it also provides advocacy to assist patients with financial hardship after diagnosis. This program is available to eligible blood cancer patients right across Australia.
Greater support for local literacy with ALNF
Through support from our Greater Charitable Foundation, The Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation is able to provide an early years education program designed to optimize the language and literacy outcomes of Indigenous children within the Taree community.
Greater life outcomes with Clontarf
From 2016 to 2020, Greater Charitable Foundation provided almost $700,000 in funding for Clontarf Foundation's In-school Re-engagement Program for many at-risk Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander male students who would otherwise not attend or have very low school attendance in various centres across regional NSW.
Greater futures for those in need
Cerebral Palsy Alliance has been the beneficiary of two funding partnerships with Greater Charitable Foundation. From 2011-2016, funding supported the Ignition, Ignition Lite and Emerge Mentoring programs, pairing Greater Bank employees with teenagers and young adults living with cerebral palsy and related physical disabilities. The programs helped participants learn new skills, gain more confidence and prepare themselves for continued study or employment.
Greater foundations to help kids recover
From 2019-2021, our Greater Charitable Foundation supported the vital work of The Children's Hospital Foundation, centred around The Child Life Therapy (CLT) Program at Gold Coast University Hospital. The program was designed to help counteract the fears, misconceptions and anxiety that hospital experiences can provoke for children. More than 3000 children and families were supported through the course of the partnership through a range of initiatives developed and implemented by the hospital.
Greater with food for those in need
Through our support of OzHarvest, our Greater Charitable Foundation funding supported the development and roll-out of the Nutrition Education Skills Training (NEST) program throughout Newcastle and the Gold Coast. NEST equips people in need, those facing food insecurity, and charitable agency staff with valuable skills and knowledge on nutritious healthy eating choices, low-cost meal planning, food shopping, healthy cooking and ways to minimise food waste.
Greater with starlight and smiles
Starlight Children’s Foundation Australia received more than $1 million in funding from the Greater Charitable Foundation from 2011-2018 that supported the Starlight Wish Granting Program, in-hospital programs at the Starlight Express Room at John Hunter Hospital (Newcastle), Starlight Outreach program in regional hospitals, and the production of 'Livewire Zine', a magazine with content created by young people in hospital, for young people in hospital.
Greater educational support with the Smith Family
Partnering with The Smith Family, Greater Charitable Foundation supports the Learning for Life program and Digital Inclusion; working with children and young people to overcome educational inequality caused by poverty. These initiatives nurture financial, personal and practical skills, empowering young people to harness education to ensure a thriving future.
Greater programs for mental health and wellbeing
Greater Charitable Foundation's funding supports batyr in the delivery of their batyr@uni program at the University of Newcastle. Addressing mental health challenges among students through peer-to-peer education and lived experience stories, batyr are keeping young people from reaching the point of crisis, and changing lives.
